But, I put that bad boy aside and just savored my cauliflower. My server, the hostess, and a server that came in mid meal where all very nice (read:they ohhed over my Lu pics) and fun.
Argentine Malbec and Pelligrino drink. Bread and olive oil was very good and so were our main dishes.

House made pasta claimed here. They were closed- but the smell that was coming from next door literally lured me inside. I overheard next table attending lass describe. The service and decor are on point, the prices and portions are great, and watching your pasta being made is exciting.I was curious about the high ratings and great reviews for this place, and knew I had to try it for myself. Hours and menu options may be affected due to the COIVD-19 corona virus.
So, I now have dinner, dessert, and lunch for tomorrow and a very happy belly.
The Dates is half order of 2. But, lavender honey happens to be a weakness, just can't say no!
The winner of the meal was definitely Grammy's lasagna. I was sad to see two of the people working in the kitchen making pasta and cooking did not wear masks.
It was creamy goodness and so so hard to put into a to go container! Lovely lasses attending all duties.

Cold Italian grinder: provolone cheese, spiced capacola ham, pepperoni, salami, and Italian beef topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pepperoncini served with our homemade Italian dressing
Got the short rib tortellini to go. Told me to wish my husband a Happy Birthday.

The service is super friendly and professional, they have a decent wine list, and the food is amazing.
Went here for a friends birthday with a few friends and hands down a new favorite in Valpo. We were thrilled that Albano's was still providing service during the Covid shelter in place and ordered several times to support this phenomenon restaurant.
I'm just floored by his generosity.Hands down my favorite restaurant since I moved back to the region after living in Chicago for 23 years. The food was delicious. but I asked the cute young guy a few tables over (who ended up being the chef/owner) to pick between A and B. Charred Cauliflower Curry it was! I wasn't even going to order this dish that changed my day.
It is what makes me wish I could articulate the feeing the first smell gave me. This guy. Food. Superb service.Albano's was absolutely delicious. B- you say, how the heck you gonna eat cheesecake?

Canoli Cake coming has pistachios. Roasted Red Pepper Tortilini main being prepared. You'll thank me later. French press coffee enroute. It came with some warm bread and an amazing herb infused tomato sauce for dipping. You can even take home pasta to make at your leisure. The staff was engaging and friendly, also a perk- but you know what I was looking for.
I have to say it did not disappoint. The chef was funny and humble. I wasn't rushed.
