The cherry stuff on top was canned tart cherries, so disappointing. The staff is superb, super attentive, so polite!I Love this place! Thank you!When you see a 3 1/2 star review average, I sort of go in with a little trepidation...I'm not sure what restaurant the other reviewers were visiting. I don't normally eat a lot of bread but the sourdough middle with the lightly salted crust was worth the splurge!

The waiter told us that he did not know if they would be changing...Menu did not excite me. We live in Folsom and it always makes us feel like we are getting away a bit when we go here. The level of freshness is unparalleled. I took my wife there for a secret lunch get away on a Tuesday afternoon.

Always has to order a steak, usually complains. We have a brand new menu full of amazing starters, fresh salads, steaks and seafood. My husband had the short rib special. Located in historic downtown Auburn, The Monkey Cat is a popular destination for both locals and visitors who are looking for a unique dining experience. We had dinner there only about a week after new ownership took over.
Good variety of food and good speciality cocktails. Great menu, friendly staff, the new Ownership are...I ordered the lamb chops they were so tough I did not eat them. Dessert was even better.
With the fresh veggies and the mashed potatoes I will certainly be back again.

Local wine selections were also good.My father can be one of the most annoying picky eaters on the planet. The kicker is their bread is hot, rubbed in olive oil with sea salt. We were sat by the door I asked if we could sit away from the door. Our drinks were never empty and she was super friendly.

The food menu is quite eclectic. It's definitely a hidden gem in Auburn. Service was excellent...but my ribeye, which I ordered medium rare, was well done. Everything else about the sandwich was delicious but I would’ve preferred sauerkraut.
