")Yeah it's not explained really, but it does make me wonder if we will see a sequel (which I would love) or if the upcoming DLC somehow deals with this topic. It was so Layla could play as Aya, but really, I think that was pointless, as I would've much rather had Bayek go to Rome instead.
It’s pretty sad really. As seen by other Assassins like Ezio, some just retire. I really hope that bayek and aya gets back together, i think they really have the best love story in the whole series, and you can tell they are really in love.
It would be so badass to see them as husband and wife leading the assassins brotherhood in this era. With said I’m sure I’m missing some info but here is my response nonetheless: I am hoping the the next AC installment (whether it be the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC or next full game) will add some closure and clarity here.
In one of the hints in a loading screen it says that children were supposed to grow up and guard their parents' tombs to protect them in the afterlife. So it is understandable that they be separated for a short time to miss each other but can not stay together for long because it hurts too much. We don't really know. Later in the game Aya says Bayek reminds her a lot of their son. They clearly still feel for each other but their marriage seems done. She hides her emotions as Amunet but losing Bayek takes a toll on her over time. I think Bayek turning the kid away and bringing him home was significant to that as well. It should be a meaningful burial doing by a special person to them. Also, look at the portray of Bayek on his tumb, he has his necklace...It can mean anything or....something.It wouldn't make sense unless Layla viewed that descendant's memories. So I'm going to come up with a bit of a theory here. My gut tells me that once they hang up their hidden blades they would retire together on a farm somewhere in the Green Mountains.

There are two type of funerary stele and on one of them, the player can see at the image on the bottom : At the right, Bayek and Aya, married (because Aya hold the hand of Bayek, it is the rule in ancient Egypt, check on the internet) Even in the DLCs, they don't get back together, but they clearly still have feelings for each other. The way I see it is that Bayek and Aya are basically the 'parents' of the Creed. So, who is the girl next to Khemu, who will be with her parents in the afterlife ?If I had to guess, I'd say it's because with Amunet taking the Hidden Ones to Rome, she was seen as more of a founder to the Assassins Brotherhood in Europe.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castFor news, discussion, and more about Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise.Press J to jump to the feed.

Who even buried them? I think Bayek and Aya get back together since they’re buried together. I assume both of them got together later on after retiring and lived happily after. With some fridge logic, it would've actually been a lot cooler if they weren't buried together, and implied that she was buried in Rome, then Amunet's tomb we find in AC2 could probably have her actual remains.I can read your post but the spoiler tag doesn’t open anything. But I could see it.In fact, the player can see the daughter of Bayek and Aya, in the Hotep Cavern, in the modern day, with Layla...There are two type of funerary stele and on one of them, the player can see at the image on the bottom :At the right, Bayek and Aya, married (because Aya hold the hand of Bayek, it is the rule in ancient Egypt, check on the internet)At the left, their children...I mean, Khemu should be painted on the funary stele of Bayek and Aya, right ? I doubt they get back together, as that would make Amunet's speech about killing her love and killing Aya pointless. True love and all? What a sad story...They’re still in love each other but they keep remembering their dead child every time they see each other. By the third game they'd get back together with the ending having them laid to rest in their tomb together. From there they live a nice life and naturally would decide to be entombed together from there. They do still love eachother at the end of THO, is not far off to say even if one has to kill the other that they wouldn't have still been buried with eachother.I think we have a clue about Bayek and Aya story...Keep speaking to the oracle of apollo, she will compare Bayek and Amunet to Orpheus and Eurydice....She told to Bayek " don't look back"...The way Layla found them buried together, maybe Bayek still don't look back, even after their death, to keep her with him ? Bayek and Aya. If written right it could truely be a beautiful story. At some point they’re gonna realize they need to have kids and train them. I mean, deaths of children can and do destroy marriages. So as a compromise and a show of their modified commitment to each other as people but also as Hidden Ones, they may say that they will watch over each other, so at least they aren't buried alone.Again, I don't know. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts
I get it, they set aside their personal feelings and devoted themselves to the cause but come on...they were married, had a kid and ended things on relatively good terms so it would make sense that at some point they would reconcile their relationship, perhaps after they retire from assassinating people.
