I don't know, once again I am disappointed in Anita's treatment of Jean-Claude. I liked the faerie guy. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Usually in series, that is hard to keep up, but this author has figured that part out.
Well, it is named after a restaurant in the book called Bloody Bones. I loved his concern for AnitI'll admit that this book bored the heck out of me at the beginning. They seem to be moving forward, even if at times it feels like they are moving slowly.
This is the first AB book that I listened to the audio of rather than reading. I was touched when he told Anita in a vulnerable voice "it hurts" when the sun came up. Jeff's older sister, During the hunt, Anita and the others are ambushed by a pack of vampires. Bloody Bones continues Anita Blake’s non-stop exploits in a book containing faerie characters and multiple story lines which added to the brilliant book. Anita proposes that instead of raising the entire Bouvier graveyard, she raise just enough zombies to confirm the Bouviers' claim to the land and prevent Stirling from digging up the graveyard and freeing Bloody Bones. A horrific fantasy tale of witches and monsters in 1920's Virginia. In this case, Jean-Claude, Jason, and Larry came along. Most enjoyable.
A huge portion of the book follows Anita Blake as she’s working and this time she’s called in on a case that is particularly gruesome. I like that the characters are in constant motion. Old Bloody Bones is a Cornish version of Rawhead-and-Bloody-Bones according to F. W. Jones in Old Cornwall. We were both unemployed and bored and got hooked into this series. RecommendedAnita Blake has been called out to an animating job in Branson, far away from her usual connections. Bloody Bones is Kelly Key's 4th novel. (Ellie does not have a coffin and is sleeping on the floor.) But luckily for the locals, Anita is an expert-in just the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. Serephina was an intriguing villain, I really enjoyed the imagery of her and her powers really made things interesting.
My favorite in the series so far! He figures Brody’s probably just trying to scare him since he’s the new kid . You insult me at every turn. There, they meet Magnus and Dorrie, each of whom is part-fey. There were a few things I liked. Just before Anita completes the circle of blood needed to activate their power, she feels Bloody Bones stir and realizes that raising even a few zombies will free the monster. With Ellie clinging to his waist, Magnus chases Anita outside and is burned to death when Ellie burns in the sunlight.

This time, Anita travels to Branson, Missouri and is quickly enmeshed in a series of supernatural murders and disappearances that she and her vampire would-be lover, Jean-Claude must resolve. The creativity that seeps into Laurell Hamilton’s book is astonishing. It’s dark and painful to read the grief instilled within some of these pages.Bloody Bones is one of the more brutal outings in this series. Hamilton's take on fairie lore made for some intriguing twists. Hamilton is a full-time writer and lives in the suburbs of St. Louis with her family.“One thing I've learned about vampires--they keep pulling new rabbits out of their cloaks. Nevertheless, I liked his character in this book, and it was refreshing to have at least one character in the mix who knew how to take direction without constant arguing - that got a little old as the book progressed. “Oh yeah, well, why you got them big claws?” “To dig your grave…” that same low voice answered back, and Bloody bones nosed forward a bit more. I found myself skipping over half the chapters. (I'd argue that "Obsidian Butterfly" could be removed in that way. So I grabbed a couple of these books. She stops, but Ivy flies from the darkness and attacks. For the first few books, I was absolutely enthralled with her take-no-prisoners attitude, her bravado, and her insistence upon keeping the monsters in check. I was touched when he told Anita in a vulnerable voice "it hurts" when the sun came up.
I found myself skipping over half the chapters. He looked down to see that the boar’s feet had changed to look like claws. Not to mention un-dead pedophiles....yeah that's a disturbing one.I read a short story in a zombie anthology where Anita raised the dead, and I thought: "Cool!"
